Hi! My name is Marius Clara (they/them) and I am a 28-year-old Germany-based (comics) writer. Inspired by the work of creatives such as Jonathan Hickman, Grant Morrison and Tillie Walden, I aspire to tell intricate, thought-provoking and emotionally resonant stories, primarily through the comics medium. My academic background is in philosophy, and my research focuses on concepts and gender identity. This interest in complex questions and social justice also extends to my creative work.

I have loved comic books for as long as I can remember and have dreamed about creating my own comics for at least a decade. Unfortunately, my abilities as an artist are very limited at best (believe me, I’ve tried, it didn’t go super well), so I am incredibly fortunate to be able to collaborate with wonderful creatives in bringing these ideas to life. During my late teens and early twenties, I interned and volunteered in the field of comics journalism, and although writing about comics has been incredibly fulfilling, the urge to write comics persisted like an unscratched itch.

In 2024, I finally decided to start working on my debut book THE THEORISTS, partially financed with money from my day job. The book was drawn and colored by cherishelle_, lettered by Krugos and made possible with the help of developmental editing by Olayinka Edun and worldbuilding advice by Nolan Bensen.
